Your work always belongs to you. We are granted a licence to publish it — nothing more.
After publication, your piece is exclusive to Women Flourish for 60 days. Then you are free to republish.
We may edit for clarity, length, and style. We will never alter your meaning without your consent.
Your name and bio appear with every published piece. You are never anonymous unless you choose to be.
By submitting a piece of writing, photography, illustration, or any other creative work (“the Contribution”) to Women Flourish Magazine (“the Publication”), the contributor (“you”) agrees to the following terms. For standard unsolicited contributions, submission constitutes acceptance of this agreement. No physical signature is required unless specifically requested for commissioned or paid work.
You retain full copyright of your Contribution at all times. Women Flourish Magazine does not claim ownership of any work submitted or published. Your words, ideas, and creative expression remain entirely your own intellectual property.
By submitting your Contribution, you confirm and warrant that: (a) the work is entirely your own original creation; (b) it has not been published elsewhere in any form, including on personal blogs, social media, newsletters, or other publications; (c) you are the sole and rightful copyright holder; and (d) the work does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party.
By submitting your Contribution, you grant Women Flourish Magazine a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and archive your Contribution in the following formats:
• Digital publication on the Women Flourish website and online platform
• Print publication in Women Flourish Magazine (available on Amazon and associated retailers)
• Digital issue formats (PDF, e-reader, and equivalent)
• Permanent digital archive of published issues
• Social media excerpts and promotional use (with attribution to you as the author)
This licence does not entitle Women Flourish Magazine to sell, license, or otherwise commercialise your Contribution as a standalone product without your express written permission.
Upon acceptance and publication of your Contribution, Women Flourish Magazine holds a 60-day period of exclusivity, beginning on the date of first publication. During this period, you agree not to republish the piece in its entirety on any other platform, publication, or medium without written permission from our editorial team.
After the 60-day exclusivity window has passed, you are free to republish your piece anywhere you choose — your personal blog, another publication, a newsletter, a book, or any other platform. We ask only one thing: please credit Women Flourish Magazine as the original publisher and, where possible, include a link to the original published piece on our platform.
Syndication rights (the right to republish on partner platforms or aggregators) remain with Women Flourish Magazine for the duration of the exclusivity period. We will always notify you of any significant syndication arrangement.
Women Flourish Magazine is an independent publication currently in its founding years. We are committed to building a sustainable publishing model that values and compensates the labour of storytelling. At this stage, we are unable to offer financial payment for standard unsolicited contributions.
In place of payment, Women Flourish offers contributors:
• A permanent, credited byline in our digital archive
• Full author attribution in all formats of publication
• A contributor biography (up to 80 words) published alongside your piece
• A headshot or author photo (if provided)
• Amplification of your piece across our social media channels and newsletter
• For selected pieces: inclusion in our print magazine, available on Amazon globally
• Immediate portfolio use — your published piece may be cited in professional contexts immediately
All commissioned and paid work is subject to a separate formal agreement with agreed rates, delivery timelines, and payment schedules. Nothing in this standard contributor agreement negates or supersedes a paid commission agreement.
Women Flourish Magazine reserves the right to edit your Contribution for the following purposes: clarity, length, grammar, house style, factual accuracy, and legal compliance. Our editorial team will always endeavour to preserve the intent, voice, and integrity of your work.
We reserve the right to decline any submission at any stage without obligation to provide a reason, though we commit to always communicating our decision. Declined submissions are returned to you with no encumbrance, and you are free to submit them elsewhere immediately.
We reserve the right to add editorial notes, corrections, or context to any piece post-publication where factual accuracy demands it. You will be notified of any substantive post-publication changes to your work.
We reserve the right to choose the placement, title treatment, imagery, and accompanying design of published pieces in accordance with our editorial standards.
You are responsible for the accuracy of all factual claims in your Contribution. While our editorial team fact-checks where possible, final responsibility for the accuracy of personal testimony, attributed quotations, claims about third parties, and cited statistics rests with you as the author.
By submitting, you confirm that: (a) all persons named, quoted, or described have given their informed consent to be included; (b) all attributed quotes are accurate to the best of your knowledge; (c) your Contribution does not defame, harass, or unjustly harm the reputation of any individual or organisation; and (d) your Contribution does not contain material that infringes upon any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property right.
If an error is discovered post-publication, you agree to notify Women Flourish Magazine promptly so that a correction can be issued. We will publish corrections transparently and without prejudice to you as the author.
Women Flourish Magazine does not accept AI-generated content. All submissions must be the product of authentic human authorship — your own voice, your own experience, your own words. Submitting AI-generated work as your own constitutes a material breach of this agreement.
You may withdraw your submission at any time before publication by contacting our editorial team. Withdrawal of a submitted but unpublished piece carries no penalty and creates no obligation on either party.
Once your Contribution has been published, withdrawal from the digital archive may be requested in exceptional circumstances — including personal safety concerns, significant factual errors that cannot be addressed through correction, or legal requirements. Such requests will be reviewed by our editorial team with care and promptness and responded to within 14 days.
Women Flourish Magazine reserves the right to remove any published Contribution at its sole discretion where it is found to violate this agreement, contain material that is defamatory, inaccurate, or legally problematic, or where circumstances require removal in the interest of any individual's safety or wellbeing.
Women Flourish Magazine commits to treating every contributor with dignity, responsiveness, and editorial care. We commit to reading every submission, communicating our decisions, and working collaboratively with contributors to bring out the best version of their work.
We ask contributors to engage with our editorial team in the same spirit: with honesty, courtesy, and a shared commitment to truth. Abusive, threatening, or harassing communication with our team will result in the immediate withdrawal of consideration for publication.
This Agreement is entered into in good faith by both parties and is intended to be read as a fair, plain-language document. Women Flourish Magazine operates as a global digital publication. Disputes, should they arise, will be resolved first through direct communication and good-faith negotiation between the parties.
Women Flourish Magazine reserves the right to update or amend these terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page with the updated effective date. Submissions made after any amendment constitute acceptance of the amended terms. Submissions made prior to an amendment are governed by the terms in effect at the time of submission.

By submitting any Contribution to Women Flourish Magazine — whether via our submission form, email, or any other channel — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Contributor Agreement in their entirety.
You confirm that: (1) the Contribution is your own original work; (2) it has not been published elsewhere; (3) you are the sole copyright holder; (4) you have obtained all necessary consents from any individuals named or quoted; (5) the Contribution does not infringe any third-party rights; and (6) the Contribution was written by a human being and not generated by artificial intelligence.
For commissioned work, a separate formal written agreement will be issued and must be countersigned before publication. The above standard contributor agreement applies only to unsolicited submissions. In the event of any conflict between this standard agreement and a formal commission agreement, the formal commission agreement takes precedence.
We read every submission personally and respond to every contributor — accepted, declined, or in need of revision. You will never be ghosted. We aim to respond within 14 days of each monthly deadline.
Our editing is in service of your story, not ours. We sharpen — we do not replace. If significant changes are needed, we discuss them with you first. Your voice is the whole point.
Your name, your bio, your photo — always with your piece. In print and digital. On social media. In every context where your work appears. You are never a ghost writer in Women Flourish.
Once published, we actively share your work across our social media, newsletter, and contributor network — because your story deserves to reach the women who need to read it.
